It is very important to us that all packaging used in the micro bakery is biodegradable and ethically sourced. The baking moulds are derived from sustainable poplar forests and the clear bags are made of cellulose, derived from wood pulp, sourced exclusively from responsibly-managed plantations. All packaging is fully compostable.
All cleaning products used in the micro bakery are naturally derived and eco-friendly, using non hazardous biodegradable solvents.
Additionally, we only use organic flour, milled from organic grain, which has been produced with higher levels of environmental welfare in mind.
Conventional wheat growing practices overuse chemical fertilisers and pesticides, leading to degraded soil health and pollution of our water supplies. All of which has a profound negative impact on our biodiversity and ecosystem balance.
Conversely, organic flour is milled from pesticide free grain and grown in soil that is only fertilised by natural substances. Organic farming practices also promote biodiversity through crop rotation, farming without disturbing the soil through tillage and by planting cover crops that improve soil structure, stability and it’s nutrient holding capacity.
Our aim is to support those who work intuitively with the ecosystems we live in, so we can reduce any negative impact on our environment.
